I hated the ps in my car, couldn't wait to get it out. So much better road feedback. That would be the first 'mod' I did if I got another e30.

Haven't updated this bad lad in a while.
I've been pretty busy lately lining up a job in Grand Rapids, which is on the other side of the state from where I currently live. I'm moving in 5 or 6 days. I'm really excited to live in an area where there will be more e30 guys! At least Nick anyway. haha. Then I can take photos of more peoples' cars than just mine!
The only thing I've done to my car recently is take photos of it, so here's a new one.

I shot it using the "Brenizer Method". Don't know if anyone knows what that is on here, but it's basically taking a bunch of photos in a grid pattern and stitching them together in photoshop similar to a panorama photo. You end up with really deep depth of field that would not necessarily be possible with any actual lens, crazy clarity, and huge file size so you can print it real big if you want. This particular photo is about 15 photos put together.

And this one is just with a 50mm (just one photo)

Is it just me or do cars always look sexier in the rain? haha.

And this one is from the other day. Also shot using the Brenizer Method.

Haha I have some work to do before my car is photo worthy. I'm liking those shots of your car though, friend of mine was just showing me that photo method. And I was wondering what happened to that last pic when you posted it on FB, bumper area is a bit goofy lol.

What day are you moving over here? Where are you living?

Yeah, sometimes it doesn't line things up 100% perfect, but that being said, my bumper slants up on the driver side in reality, so it could just be the angle. Who knows.
I'm moving next Saturday, and I am currently in the process of finding an apartment. haha. Been looking close to down town - Heritage Hill area, Madison Area, Roosevelt Park, etc. I'm trying to get some appointments lined up for Wednesday since I'm going to be in town, to look at a bunch of apartments and pick one.

Its called the Brenizer Method. You focus the camera on the area you want to stay in focus, lock the AF so it will not change while shooting and set your exposures. Then you snap a series of about 20-40 pictures in a pattern around the subject in an outward fashion. I should also say that this works better with a larger aperture lens or longer focal lengths. I did mine with a 17-55 at 55mm and 2.8F with about 45 pictures.

Photoshop has a function called Panoramic Photomerge which will align all the photos up as best as possible to build a single shot. Its pretty sweet.

Here is a better description.

Do it! Ryan Brenizer, the guy who made it up, is a wedding photographer, so you can find a lot of wedding photos done like this and they look freak in awesome.
The one of your car looks good too!
And you are probably the only one who snoops my flickr (thanks!) haha. I get like 8 views on my pictures. hahaha.

You're going to need to take quite a few shots. Probably like a whole roll. You might be able to make it work. I don't know.
