 frankenstien motors!
ok so i have a question do any of the 24v heads bolt onto a m20 block. or even does the say s52 head bolt onto the m50 or 52 bottom end. just wondering what kinda frankenstien possibilities are out there?

MS/5x heads are all the same casting number. So they all interchange within reason. If an M50 head fit on an M20 block, you would know about it. Also, M50 == timing chain, M20 == timing belt. Just that part alone should be your answer.

that answers my question, thanks! never even seen any other bmw motor other than a m20. i hope to change that though. i am really starting to come over to your side on the whole 24 valver thing. not saying i am gonna run out and buy one. but my eyes are def wide open hoping to spot one!

DOESNT MEEN I AM GOING TO JUST FORGET MY BOOSTED M20. but a 24 valve looks pretty sweet in a e30 i have to admit.

easy? nah just different. building a 24v is the same as a 12v. Just more valves. I figure, a 24v will put out more power with the same displacement as an sohc. *shrugs*

IMO adding 12 more valves is like waxing your pubes, it makes your johnson look bigger but at what cost?
